15 years after first dabbling in photography, Pacino Wong considers photography as his “life-long passion”.

1997 was a special year for Pacino Wong as it was the year where he first started to dabble in photography. 15 years later, he considers photography as his “life-long passion” and finds joy in making sure that his clients fall madly in love with his photos. From corporate, commercial to food shots, he considers every assignment as a journey as every photo depicts the adventures that he went through while taking them. An avid traveller, Wong’s very grateful that his profession gives him the chance to travel all over the world and capture new adventures through his lenses.

2008: Made in Malaysia

While Malaysian movies were common in local cinemas, locally-made Chinese content was relatively low-budget due to low demand compared to imports from Hong Kong, Taiwan or even Singapore. However, the late 2000’s saw a surge in Malaysian-made Chinese content, most evident in 2008 when Ah Long Pte Ltd, a collaboration between Malaysia’s Double Vision and Singapore’s MediaCorp Raintree Pictures, became the year’s most successful locally-made Chinese film. Starring Fann Wong, the film was shot in Kuala Lumpur and holds the record for the highest-grossing Malaysian movie in Singapore and Malaysia combined that year. The industry finally acknowledged the prevalence of Chinese content when ntv7 held its inaugural Golden Awards to recognise local Malaysian Chinese content and talent.
